Rain is a part of the job.

At Patriot Lifting, we work in all kinds of conditions but safety is always the priority. While some may assume that crane work stops the moment it starts raining, thats not always the case.

The key isn’t avoiding rain entirely. It’s understanding when it’s safe to work and when it’s not.

Understanding the Limits

Not all rain is the same, and not all conditions affect lifting the same way.

At Patriot Lifting, we are comfortable working in:

  • Light rain

  • Moderate rain

As long as conditions remain safe and controlled, work can continue without issue.

However, there are clear limits we never cross.

When We Do NOT Work

Safety always comes first and there are conditions where the answer is simple: we stop.

We do not operate in:

  • Lightning or thunderstorms ⚡

  • Severe weather conditions

  • Situations where visibility or control is compromised

Lightning is a hard stop NO exceptions. You could probably tell why.

Why Rain Doesn’t Always Stop the Job

Cranes are built to operate in real-world conditions, and experienced crews know how to adjust accordingly.

Working in rain requires:

  • Increased awareness of surroundings

  • Careful monitoring of load control

  • Clear communication between operator and crew

  • Proper setup and planning before the lift begins

With the right preparation, rain doesn’t have to mean delays.

Planning Ahead to Avoid Delays

One of the biggest advantages we bring to our customers is planning.

At Patriot Lifting, we:

  • Monitor weather ahead of scheduled jobs

  • Plan lifts around forecasted conditions

  • Adjust timing when necessary

  • Communicate with contractors to keep projects moving

Our goal is simple: if it’s safe to work, we’re working.

Keeping Projects Moving Safely

We understand that delays cost time and money. That’s why we don’t shut down for every bit of rain but we also don’t take unnecessary risks.

It’s a balance of:

  • Experience

  • Judgment

  • Safety standards

  • Communication

Knowing where that line is makes all the difference.

You Don’t Have to Worry About the Weather

When you work with Patriot Lifting, you’re working with a team that understands real jobsite conditions.

We’ll:

  • Work through rain when it’s safe

  • Stop when it’s not

  • Plan ahead to avoid unnecessary delays

  • Keep your project moving whenever possible

Built for Real Conditions

Rain happens. The job still needs to get done.
